The political cartoon is about the topic of the panama canal. I know this because on Roosevelt's bad it says, "millions for the canal". The cartoonists message is that Roosevelt is taking over Columbia. i know this because of how he is choking the Colombian man who is holding his guns.Some people might see this cartoon in a positive way, because of the way uncle Sam is in the back cheering for Roosevelt. I see the techniques of labeling on Roosevelt's bag and the mans jacket, and I also see exaggeration in Roosevelt's size and strength. I, like the cartoonist, believe that Roosevelt, at that time, was seen as a forceful and strong figure.
